Vince McMahon is implicated in a sex trafficking case and he's bringing frequent collaborator John Laurinaitis and Brock Lesnar with him.
Here's Tyrone Magnus' reaction video on YouTube. I chose this YT vlog because it's not as dramatic as most wrestling sites and it's not as overly comedic as what Jim Cornette and Brian Last did in their most recent video. While I don't mind their usual comedy, they need to tone down all the heckling because they give out trigger-warning vibes.
And now, breaking news, Vince McMahon has resigned as executive chairman of TKO and WWE.
Wowowowowowow.
Nothing screams forced resignation like sponsors backing out from the product. And if you consider that this is Wrestlemania season, this practically doubles the pressure. McMahon created the Wrestlemania season which has been going on for four decades. Slim Jim got out of their deal but who's to say that they are the first and last sponsor to ditch WWE following this situation?
It's insane how power corrupts individuals, especially this late in their careers. The Janel Grant situation just started in 2019. With apologies to the girl, I think she can endure all the things that happened to her as long as she is financially compensated. And for a man who just sold his company for billions of dollars, I just don't get why he can't pay the entire three million dollars to the person he has been torturing.
Also, Brock Lesnar just got implicated.
When McMahon retired from WWE in July 2022, Lesnar left a Smackdown show. While he did eventually return late in the episode, there is no questioning that Lesnar is close with Vince. The fact that WWE just ditched a potential Brock Lesnar Royal Rumble return might coincide with this development.
What a situation after the Netflix deal and the fact that The Rock and Triple H are now running the company in terms of different standpoints.
Obviously, Laurinaitis is done with the company. With Lesnar, I can see him returning. I don't think he's done anything physical (although the urine thing is weird.)
We can't have another Vince McMahon return other than a Hall of Fame induction. And even with that, it feels like it's wrong. Vince can be Trump-like at times but he's also bordering on the levels of Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein here.
This could hurt his legacy.
While yeah, a "McMahon" might have built the WWE, this McMahon might remain unnamed unless it's in a video package that has the image of Vincent J. McMahon or the rest of his family.
