So WNBA's Sabrina Ionescu fought valiantly against Steph Curry's onslaught.
I am not going to insult her performance.
If there is something that WNBA players can be equal with their male counterparts, it's probably the skills competition as well as the three-point shootout. While NBA players use their skills with a hint of showmanship, the WNBA players have to hone theirs to stay competitive. The girls have to perfect their long-range skills because they can't have sure-ball post-up moves and dunks.
The WNBA way is the Euro way, and pretty much how most ballers - male and female get their offense for most of the earth. Yes, Euroleague players and some Asian players are dunking now, but they negate their lack of athleticism with their ultra-accurate long-distance attacks.
If this is the case, then the NBA could have the WNBA have their all-star weekend as part of the NBA all-star weekend. They can have the three-point shootout as well as the skills challenge as part of the historical canon but have a man versus woman match when it's all said and done. I am pretty sure that the femmes could have their way in the skills match.
Hell, I think they have a better chance to win that contest than the three-point shootout, especially since the bonus balls infuse power with accuracy given their placements.
Anyway, here is Steph versus Sabrina.
