THE YOUNG BUCKS ARE MISSING THE POINT

I am not a fan of The Young Bucks.

With that said, what the hell?

Why are they dressed like Fred Armisen in Eurotrip?

I get that they are trying to pull off their EVP version.

I don't know if they can, but good luck.

Yes, they made this character change after the departure of CM Punk, but my beef with this change is that it's just downright stupid.

Tony Khan is the AEW owner and unless they are going to act like they are his stooges, then everything they do will get vetoed by the boss. Also, I think the power they can wield is just bringing jobs to their friends and free reign to go behind the scenes with their Being The Elite YouTube show. During the CM Punk fight, Khan suspended and stripped them of their Trios titles. Don Callis would then belittle their stature.

And now they are doing this?

Apart from the shoot promos, this does nothing for them. It's a forgettable gimmick that would not help the company. Also, if they are main event guys, then they just gave their selves a midcard gimmick. Yes, John Bradshaw Layfield took the pretentious prick persona to the moon but I'm pretty sure the Bucks can't. They are still goofy, and somewhere along the line, they are going to interact with Adam Page and Kenny Omega.

What they are doing right now is almost synonymous with when Stevie Richards became Steven Richards, or that time when Henry O. Godwinn and Phineas I. Godwinn turned into Southern Justice.

And did I say they look goofy? If they are going to make this character change, why are they wrestling in unwashed suits? Baron Corbin did this during his unlucky phase for crying out loud. Darby Allin looked better than them because he felt like a rock star.

Why can't they just look like rock stars with Cutler and Nagasawa serving as their groupies? Their Bullet Club personas worked because they acted like pricks and they look cool doing it. How can they look cool if they look like a Jon Lovitz version of Miami Vice's Don Johnson? If they still want to be goofy, then they can just pattern their looks to Russell Brand.

If Sting asked for The Young Bucks, then is THIS the version he asked for?

At the end of the day, you still want your main stars to look like gold. Whether you love or despise The Young Bucks, they are still positioned as AEW's chief attractions. If the costume change is a desperate attempt to get back their past popularity, then not only are they failing, but they are also putting a wedge on a possible free agent haul based solely on their past exploits.
