Other than facing Mercedes Mone at Forbidden Door, I don't really know who Stephanie Vaquer is.
But yeah, she's with WWE now.
Again, she's not a household name. That said, her match against Mone, the former Sasha Banks, stood out in the AEW PPV. You'd think that she's going to sign with the company because they were the ones that gave her the opportunity to strut her wares in the United States.
Nope.
It pays that WWE has a Performance Center and they are currently pushing all the right buttons as of this moment. Again, WWE is un-doing the rainbow-themed version of NXT by returning to their "black and gold" ways of acquiring talent. The TNA alliance has been good to NXT and the acquisitions of Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu have elevated The Bloodline storyline to a new gear. Furthermore, Ethan Page is now the NXT Champion with Shawn Spears getting into the brand's upper midcard scene. And while yeah, Lexis King has dropped a couple of rungs in terms of exposure, but getting these wrestlers addresses the concern that WWE had a couple of months ago where they lost Mone, Kazuchika Okada, and Will Ospreay to the other company.
There is fear that WWE might be taking too many wrestlers again, but hopefully they are properly managing their talent.
With a NXT women's scene of raw, not-ready-for-primetime women, Vaquer will likely have a more prominent role here. For AEW, it's going to be a loss, but not just her per se, but because even with their need for stars, other wrestlers are choosing WWE's stacked roster because of the opportunities to succeed.
