Christian Standhardinger poured in 34 points as the Barangay Ginebra Kings fought off a Meralco storm and a literal storm to move one win away from going to the Finals, 89 to 84.
I like how it was another back-and-forth battle in the fourth - with C-Stan unleashing insane mid-range beauties to move Ginebra to a potential Game 6 clincher.
I also like how Ralph Cu is used. For some reason, his 3X3 game has translated well in the 5V5 stage. Cu adds another dimension as a Stretch Four whenever Cone wants C-Stan and Japeth Aguilar to muscle their way on the inside. And yeah, the patented 3X3 drop passes are also represented well whenever needed.
Maverick Ahanmisi had 13 points in almost 28 minutes for the Kings while Japeth finished the game with ten points and 12 rebounds. Chris Banchero had 18 for the Bolts, with Chris Newsome getting 17 points but with only 5-of-19 shooting. Allein Maliksi also struggled with 13 points and 5-of-13 shooting, with Cliff Hodge coming off with 14 points and eight rebounds.
