If the Crispa Redmanizers were a symphony of stars, Bernard Fabiosa was the steady rhythm keeping it all together. A pioneer of the league and a 15-time champion, including two Grand Slams in 1976 and 1983, Fabiosa was the quintessential floor general—setting up plays, locking down opposing guards, and making sure the engine never stalled. While his name might not be found on MVP lists or All-Defensive citations, his lone Mythical Second Team nod in 1984 is a quiet reminder of his lasting excellence. Nicknamed “The Sultan of Swipe”, Fabiosa was among the league’s best pickpockets, constantly disrupting offenses with his quick hands and court savvy. He may not have been flashy, but he was a winner through and through—one of the PBA’s great silent operators.
