Known as “The Pride of Camiguin,” Alberto "Abet" Guidaben carved out a storied two-decade career built on consistency, quiet dominance, and championship pedigree. Originally thrust as the main rival of Ramon Fernandez, Guidaben flourished in his own right, capturing two MVP awards in 1983 and 1987 and earning five Mythical Five selections. A reliable two-way big man with a smooth mid-range jumper and sound fundamentals, he was the stabilizing force behind 16 PBA championships, including two Grand Slams. Though often overshadowed by flashier contemporaries, Guidaben's impact on winning was undeniable—making him one of the most decorated and underrated legends in league history.
