Secret Base did a piece on Ed O'Bannon.
I remember watching a college game of his back in the day. Back then, I only watched a handful of US NCAA games. I remember the UCLA Bruins with O'Bannon, Charles O'Bannon, George Zidek, and Tyus Edney. Meanwhile, the reason why I was watching the games is because of Jerry Stackhouse.
I also collected Jerry Stackhouse cards on the promise that he is the player groomed by Michael Jordan to be his baby version.
Anyway, O'Bannon never really panned out in the NBA. For some reason, I saw him playing power forward and he was used by New Jersey as their version of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
Also, I always thought that if you are an NCAA Player of the Year, you have a sure spot in the NBA.
That all changed when I saw Donald Williams play for Shell, who is also Stack's teammate in North Carolina.
