So, Ethan Page is just a dude whose biggest concern is an opportunity. If you think of how shallow the AEW upper midcard is, they could have used a guy like Page in their ranks.
Oh well.
Anyway, the title win is right smack with Page's brand. Trick Williams hitting his finisher with Page accidentally pinning Je'Von Evans is awesome. As much as Williams looks good with the title, it felt like he had a bad run as champ. Without contemporaries Ilya Dragonov and Carmelo Hayes, he didn't have a challenger at par with his character. Page and Spears are just refugees looking for work in NXT. Metafour is NOT a title angle and the Lash Legend love story will not be a good main event storyline unless she wins a belt, or leaves her stable.
With Page, he and his punchable face can be the gutless champion who is okay to win in the shadiest of ways.
