LORCANA | I JUST PULLED AN ALICE ENCHANTED CARD!

The more I think about it, the more I believe my room is a hobby shop with a bed.

Word.

Anyway, January 10, 2024...

The first of many hauls...

... my first Enchanted card.

I plan to invest in Disney's Lorcana TCG. The main reason for this is that when I was in my second year of high school in 1996, I had a chance to buy a Magic: The Gathering Fourth Edition starter deck worth 500 pesos.

As of January 2024, that deck is now worth 150 to 200 dollars, or about 10,000 pesos if you lean towards the 200-dollar part. I can still remember how "expensive" the Black Lotus was in 1998 at 8,500 pesos as to what its current worth is now.

The thing about my high school self back then is that I knew it could be worth something, but I had no funds and I didn't know if the game would explode. However, seeing the success of Magic, as well as Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh, I think I need to buy packs, boxes, and troves of this game.

My interpretation of money is anything of value that would give you moderate to intense satisfaction. When the pandemic hit, I placed money on G-Invest, Gotrade, and collectibles. Before the pandemic, I had been collecting Hot Wheels, Tomica, Funko Pop, and basketball cards but I tripled down on these collectibles two or three years ago because of their money-making potential.

So far, I see a lot of good in my die-cast cars, but everything else is questionable. I came into the NBA card collecting a bit late and I hate the fact that aside from numbered cards, you also have to contend with the horde of Panini brands as well as its parallels. In terms of Funko, I bought the things I liked instead of the things that would earn.

Anyway, ten booster packs and four blister packs later, this happened.

Now I am not really a fan of Alice in Wonderland. While I dig the story, as well as the

So here's the thing - I need to learn how to sell on Shopee, Lazada, Facebook Marketplace, and on eBay. If I am also going to do this, then I need to buy more supplies like boxes, bubble wraps, and other things. I bought supplies a couple of years ago for my Funko pops, but the constant lowballing and scene-zoning just bummed me out. This is why I need a partner that would help me sell my collection.

As for the Alice in Wonderland enchanted card, I plan to grade it once I open the boxes I want to open. I am thinking of opening one booster box from The First Chapter and The Rise of the Floodborn and then keeping another box to sell it as a whole in five years or opening it when the game has overtaken either Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh. While I don't think it will surpass Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon just like that, it's hard to discount a century-old franchise with the possible potential of expanding to other franchises if they become successful.

I'm pretty sure they'll be checking out Pixar but I'm also looking forward for the Mickey Mouse organization to check out The Looney Tunes, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, as well as the Dreamworks characters.

If this happens, this would even make the Alice card even more awesome.

Hehehe! :)
