Remember her?
Well, she's back.
I like how WWE treats their forbidden door as more for shock value as to what AEW is doing, which is a battle of equals.
This is why WWE finds it hard to create these kinds of moments, as in the eyes of the company, they are the top wrestling promotion in the world.
And rightfully so.
But in the case of TNA versus WWE, I guess you can say there might be equality here. Most NXT stars are kids with little to no independent scene background. Yes, the return of Triple H to the fold took more premium to hire experienced athletes, like Roxanne Perez here. That said, Jordynne Grace has traveled the wrestling promotions despite being just 28 while Roxanne is a prodigy at 22.
Now, I don't know the scariness of the situation that TNA is doing here. More Jordynne exposure means the possibility of losing her to the WWE once her contract is up. It would have been better if they just had a former TNA guy to strut his wares...
Oh, ETHAN PAGE!
Again, these are the WWE fans not caring about the former AEW stars, as it took a while to recognize All Ego. With that said, this can also be a good thing for Ethan Page, who kept his name during the transfer. Like Lexis King, Page was underused in AEW after an impressive tenure in TNA (except when he fought against himself.) Right from the get-go, Page is on a hot storyline that involves NXT Champion Trick Williams so this is a good move for him.
Page has the looks, and if done well, has the talents to give his WWE stint a chance it deserves. Meanwhile, he could also potentially become the fifth problem AEW will face after Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, CM Punk, and King, who have been presented well since leaving Tony Khan's company.
Since the big names are the more attractive finds, it's the mid-level performers that would eventually hurt AEW because, at the moment, they are losing their big stars to injuries and their secondary stars are too raw to pick up the mantle. This is why a guy like Swerve Strickland is a good anomaly to have, but unfortunately, it feels like his champion push is playing second fiddle for The Young Bucks, as well as the NJPW championship Jon Moxley holds at the moment.
Hell, after Christian Cage, will Swerve feud with Chris Jericho?
Anyway, let's see where this goes. I don't know if Ethan Page's push is deserved given how rotten he was handled in AEW, but at least he's free to do his thing.
Let's see, maybe he's going to be the testing ground in case Ricky Starks, or some other disgruntled AEW wrestler wants to jump ship with a storyline in place.
