IMPROMPTU HOLIDAYS ARE ANNOYING

E-LEARNING IS NOT EDSA LEARNING!

Let me say this.

When I was a kid, I used to love impromptu holidays.

Ever since college, it sucks.

The impromptu EDSA Revolution holiday of 2023 ranks high as one of the suckiest. I don't know if this is because of a reward or if the administration is anticipating a riot, but it's never a good thing when you suspend work on a Friday.

Honestly, it feels as if this is a "rich kid" move. I got this take from some dude on Twitter. The admin went Y.O.L.O. for some reason and just forced the people to follow. At times, I guess we need this because working or thinking about working for more than 60 hours is really unhealthy. With that said, doubling down on deadlines on Monday is a chore.

The execs are going to enjoy impromptu long weekends. Regular employees don't. If this is pre-pandemic times wherein I have to commute to work while there is overpouring rain, I am going to look for a watering hole and drink an intense amount of beer because I don't want to go head-to-head with a bunch of commuters.

And this is not the first time that it has happened. With that said, at least the December 26 break is kind of expected. Obviously, this is a day of infamy for the other side. Also, the government has released its set of holidays. So does this mean, he can move Rizal Day to December 29 since December 30 fell on a Saturday? How about the November 3 day because he already declared November 1 and 2 as non-working?

Is there another religious-themed holiday we should be looking at?

I don't know if this is the caffeine talking but I really hope the government will iron out this annoying quirk.
