It's a bit annoying at some points.
But it's not Bill Maher's fault.
I'm guessing some dude in the audience was with his wife and he just wanted to accentuate the fact that sometimes, a Red Forman-like figure is the thing the child needs.
With that said, again, Bill is right. He may not have kids, but he has constantly dealt with annoying people, and their bratty and bitchy personas can be traced back to their childhood.
Anyway, once upon a time, I wanted to be a trad dad. However, because of unforeseen circumstances, I became... this. With that said, I will always subscribe to the old norms.
I am not saying that dads need to bring back the insane punishments, but I think the world is better off if kids know the consequences of their actions.
