The FEU Tamaraws entered Season 87 with a mission to re-establish themselves as a force in UAAP basketball. However, the campaign proved to be a challenging one, as they finished with a 5-9 record, placing them sixth out of eight teams. Despite missing the Final Four, the Tamaraws had bright spots that hint at a promising future.

FEU struggled with consistency throughout the elimination round, failing to gain enough momentum to secure a postseason berth.
Mo Konateh was a dominant presence in the paint, earning a spot in the Mythical Five. Averaging a league-best 16.71 rebounds per game, along with 10.21 points and 2.36 blocks per game, he was an elite rim protector and a relentless rebounder who anchored the team’s interior defense.
Jorick Bautista provided much-needed scoring, posting 12.43 points per game while contributing 1.14 steals per contest. His ability to score from multiple areas on the court was crucial in keeping FEU competitive in several games.
And then, there's Veejay Pre. The Rookie of the Year averaged 13.29 points and 7.00 rebounds per game, proving to be a valuable asset for the Tamaraws. His well-rounded game suggests that he could be a cornerstone for the team moving forward.

While FEU fell short of its goals this season, the emergence of young talents like Pre and the dominance of Konateh provide optimism for the future. With more experience and continued development, the Tamaraws have the potential to climb back into Final Four contention in the coming seasons. If they can address their inconsistencies and reinforce their roster, expect a stronger showing in the next campaign.
