DON'T COUNT THE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS OUT

It's funny because here in the Philippines, most politicians and officials can say this answer, but they'll get castigated for some reason.

It's the "damn if you will and damn if you don't" scenario.

I know sportswriters are as needy as political beat reporters but at least they are still respectful.

Also, it's awesome that Andrew Wiggins got to take care of his personal matter without getting flak. Golden State really missed his services and he could have been an easy scapegoat if they missed the playoffs. Steve Kerr and the rest of the organization were so chill that, for some reason, heads rolled and an ultimatum was dished out at the height of the Jordan Poole and the Draymond Green incident. Hell, one would even "conspiracy theory" the fact that they got rid of James Wiseman and re-acquired team favorite Gary Payton II to clean up whatever they have at the moment.

I have seen this kind of regular-season grind before. To combat age and injuries, Doc Rivers and the rest of the Boston Celtics placed a cap on the appearances of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce with Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo doing most of the mayhem. The Cs also limited Garnett's minutes and they ended up losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2010 NBA Finals with a so-so 50-32 record.

It's like tanking but with a purpose.

Just like what Gregg Popovich also did with David Robinson and Tim Duncan.

We have seen people counting out the Golden State Warriors and I don't know why. They are the defending champions and they have a dynasty. They were able to infuse their veterans with their new guys and this is going to make them extra dangerous come playoff time.

Donte DiVincenzo is part of their bench mob and he is a former NBA champion.

When the media kind of respects a team's privacy, they are probably intrigued by what they are cooking. Maybe there's an elaborate plot they need to wait for, so instead of breaking the news, it's a cool sight to have these sites brace for the incoming story.

I bet Golden State has something on its sleeve. I know the league has done away with the awful volleyball shirt-like jerseys, but again, something's up with Golden State.

But then, I am rooting for the Sacramento Kings in the West so admittedly, I want them to lose.

Ah, so the Kings got Game 1 as of this writing?

Hehehe.
