CRIME SCENE SEASON 5 IS ON!!!

A SCENE FROM SEASON 4

The hit Korean mystery role-playing show Crime Scene is back!

This time it’s going global through Netflix!

While fan-favorite Hong Jin Ho is still absent from the main lineup, the reduced cast of five from last season’s six raises hopes for his guest appearance.

I WISH!

According to insiders, the new season of Crime Scene will feature an elite cast: director Jang Jin, broadcaster Park Ji Yoon, comedian Jang Dong Min, actor Kim Ji Hoon, and Ive’s An Yu Jin.

Jang Jin, Park Ji Yoon, and Jang Dong Min are icons of the show, while Kim Ji Hoon, earned rave reviews for his outlandish characters. Ahn Yu Jin, also known from the Korean series Earth Arcade, is the lone survivor from last season's new cast because she impressed the fans with her deduction skills and adaptability.

Gone from last season are Shinee's Key and Joo Hyun Young.

Last year, Netflix had two problem-solving Korean reality programs. While the second season of Zombieverse is tons better than the first, I hated Agents of Mystery. The biggest gripe I had with the show is that it was only six episodes and only three missions. Also, it didn't have the charm of Crime Scene.

That said, the fourth season of Crime Scene also had the problem of getting the feels from its first three seasons. Like Agents of Mystery, Crime Scene 4 had five stories in a span of 10 episodes, which is like the first half of Crime Scene Season 1. It feels like, after the cliffhanger, the reveals were just a way to prolong the episode. In Season 4, the mechanics of the show became repetitive with some of the suspects getting ruled out by the end of the odd episodes, and they were just reaching for a way to sway the suspects to another direction in the middle of the even episodes.

The last two missions were great though.

The way all the episodes were spun together, leading to the cult leader, is insane. I would have left episodes 9 and 10 as it is, but again, I hope Season 5 will have cliffhanger episodes to break mostly one-and-done situations.

Crime Scene is Korea’s first role-playing mystery game show. In it, players step into the roles of both detective and suspect within intricate, well-designed scenarios.
