I like MXM.
I like FTR.
I like The Acclaimed.
I like House of Black.
The Outrunners? I love the presentation.
However, this is tag team spam at its worst.
They had a spot where they did an assisted platoon suplex.
At one point Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher had one team in a figure four leglock while the FTR had stereo sharpshooters on MXM.
At a lot of points, you see teams go outside for a dive, and then at a lot of points, you see the fresh tag team clear the ring to perform their signature taunt.
In the end, they had The United Empire facing off against The Young Bucks.
That said, at a lot of various points again, the match could have been over. Some acts have gone stale, and many teams were kneeling and waiting for their spots.
Why can't they have a tournament? I know it's an overused AEW trope but at least we can see the tag teams properly face off against each other. I know battle royals are a great way to hide the jobbers, but it's also the worst way to feature the midcarders. In AEW's case, it also hurts the top teams because the company loves to give long matches to give the underneath guys an outside chance.
And it's not like a real team won. I know Ospreay and Fletcher are buddies, but they are more known as singles stars at the moment. They are also in other feuds right now. They don't need The Young Bucks to get a spot at AEW Grand Slam, but most of the teams here do.
Again, The Outrunners are red-hot right now.
