2022 PBA DRAFT | LIST OF APPLICANTS

JUSTINE BALTAZAR IS TOP PICK MATERIAL

The applicants are here and I think there's a chance that the draft would get shallow as early as the third round.

The thing about the 2022 PBA Draft applicants is that less than 60 percent of the players finished school with a UAAP or an NCAA school. Even with the UAAP relaxing its case to their seniors, the PBA failed to get the players that are listed in a lot of mock drafts and wish lists.

Avery Scharer, for instance, is a 35-year-old applicant that got the snub because Maurice Shaw did a fine job representing the Fil-Ams of the 35-and-up age range.

With GMA taking NCAA to popularity heaven, it's obvious that the likes of Rhenz Abando, Fran Yu, James Kwekuteye, Warren Bonifacio, and even Kim Aurin for that matter (although he may have stuck with the Altas because he's immobile due to chickenpox) are going to stick with the NCAA. I mean... why waste a season of being a top draw for a season of being a potential benchwarmer? Also, ditto for the UAAP players. Almost all of their team lineups are mostly intact with the exception I guess of the DLSU Green Archers - who are mostly one-and-done players.

Anyway, this is the list of applicants and their colleges. Of course, Justine Baltazar, Sedrick Barefield, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Jeremiah Gray, and Justin Arana are expected to make waves.

Note: I tried hard to get the colleges of the other MPBL guys but as of this writing, I am also watching the NCAA Final Four games.
