The NLEX Road Warriors wrapped up the season with a 19-20 record, facing both challenges and changes along the way. Under the initial guidance of Yeng Guiao, the Road Warriors made a coaching switch as the Commissioner's Cup approached, with Guiao returning to Rain or Shine and former San Beda mentor Frankie Lim taking over for his second coaching stint in the PBA.
Despite missing Japanese B-Leaguer Kiefer Ravena, the Road Warriors made strategic moves in the off-season, acquiring top pick Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser from Blackwater, as well as Sean Anthony and Jake Pascual from Phoenix. Local players Kevin Alas and Don Trollano stepped up as key contributors, with JR Quinahan unfortunately sidelined by injury for most of the season. Kris Rosales also stood out, playing in 30 or more games for the team.
With that said, NLEX still found it difficult to have a lengthy playoff run despite the acquisitions of former NBA players Earl Clark and Wayne Selden (Jonathon Simmons also played for the team at the start of their Governors' Cup run).
While the Road Warriors have yet to replicate their impressive PBA D-League success, they have yet to find that exceptional talent to propel them beyond the quarterfinal round.
